Abstract
The Weigh House of Haarlem was the subject a one hundred year old scholarly dispute about who designed the building: The painter Cornelis Cornelisz., who was inexperienced in designing buildings, or the city architect Lieven de Key. The present article is mainly devoted to the analysis of the design of the building's façade. This investigation provides the definitive proof that the design could not have come from anyone other than Lieven de Key.
