Angst – woher sie kommt, was sie mit uns macht
Everybody has experienced anxiety at some point in their lives. But what are the origins of fear and anxiety? What happens in our body when we feel threatened? What is the difference between anxiety and fear? And when do anxiety and fear become so severe that we speak of an anxiety disorder? Dr. Matthias Sperl is a psychological psychotherapist (cognitive behavioral therapy) and conducts research on the neurophysiological mechanisms of anxiety at the University of Siegen. In an interview with Caroline Münch (Allgemeine Zeitung, VRM Mainz), he talks about where anxiety comes from and how we can deal with it.
