But is the crisis of meaning of the social market economy just a current phenomenon? Or is a widespread lack of understanding on economic issues cause for the formation of the dilemma? The authors examine the question whether the problem is caused by a communication crisis at school. Therefore the construct of the social market economy from the perspective of textbooks in NRW will be examined.
