Am Gruneberg a Pössneck

The housing estate Pössneck (Thuringia) of the architect Heinrich Tessenow (1876-1950) was built in 1921. It is his most significant urban development in which his outstanding theory of housing development is expressed in an exemplary manner. This applies to the layout of straight streets, the use of house types and their unpretentious craftsmanship. The house types vary in size and adaptation to the distinctly sloping terrain, resulting in a homogeneous yet varied and dynamic appearance.
