Abstract
The exact number of persons with disabilities in Ghana is still unknown. The statistics indicate that more than 5 million people in Ghana live with disabilities. Ghanaians with disabilities continue to grapple with several barriers in their daily lives irrespective of laws to promote and safeguard their human rights. The disability movement exists to advocate for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in mainstream society as social, architectural, transportation, institutional, and information barriers continue to prevent them from having full access to available resources and opportunities to maximize their potential.
