Abstract
The following literature dissertation shows a way of healing from traumata through writing, which the still living
writer Christa Reinig has put down. The dissertation starts with the youth works that show the psychic violations
by the war and the resulting subject, death. Later Reinig became a Buddhist, in the middle of her literary period,
caused by an accident and started autobiographical writing. In the seventies she became part of the feminist
movement and works out, in novel and essay, a radical feministic position, which led to a lesbian coming-out. In
the end she wrote a matriarchical novel with autobiographical imbeddings. During this development Reinig has
been overcomig her double-ego and the masculine parts of it. A relevant chapter of this dissertation is dedicated
to this theme. The following text explores the complete works of Reinig, but leaves out some of the surrealistic
radio plays who are less or not relevant for the subject and of which some are not yet published. The list of
literature used contains additionally Reinigs single publications in addition to anthologies and critique in the
press, all together several dozens of pages.
