Abstract
During this dissertation an investigation was carried out into the influence of cement composition on the properties of autoclaved aerated concrete. The investigations were initially carried out with laboratory cements made from laboratory clinkers which were produced under defined conditions. The following essential cement parameters were examined: content of principal phases (alite, belite, aluminate, ferrate), potassium oxide content, degree of sulfatization, clinker cooling, sulfate agent intergrinding (type and quantity), and cement fineness. The results obtained were used to draw up a requirement profile for industrial clinkers which were obtained from various works. From these were
produced specific laboratory cements which were used for further investigations. In the last stage investigations were carried out with industrial cements. In addition to the Portland cements mainly used investigations were also carried out with Portland slag cement and high- alumina cement. During the investigations it became clear that the fineness of the quartz sand used can also influence the properties of the autoclaved aerated concrete, so investigations were also carried out with sand meals of varying fineness.
Anhydrite is often used in the production of autoclaved aerated concrete to improve its properties. During the investigations the attempt was made to determine the influence of anhydrite on the autoclaved aerated concrete properties. A search was also made for alternative sulfate agents.
