Abstract
In this thesis, a process is developed to bend continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite pipes. The process includes heating, forming, reconsolidation and cooling of the composite tube. Basic material tests and bending tests provide insights into the reorientation of the reinforcing fibers during bending. These results are incorporated into a kinematic model that describes the resulting fiber angle in the bent tube and is validated by measurement data.
