Publication Access status: Metadata only , Introduction to B physics(2023)This Article represents a short introduction on why the physics of bottom-quark hadrons is currently one of most important topics in contemporary pArticle physics. We introduce the main theoretical tools to set the stage for the following, more detailed and more specialized Articles in this collection.Source Type:Article1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Access status: Metadata only , QCD corrections at subleading power for inclusive nonleptonic $b→c\overline{u}d$ decays(2024); ; In this paper we compute the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections for the inclusive nonleptonic decay rates of <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mi>B</a:mi></a:math> hadrons at subleading power of the heavy quark expansion. In particular, we discuss the coefficient of the chromomagnetic moment parameter <c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><c:msub><c:mi>μ</c:mi><c:mi>G</c:mi></c:msub></c:math>, which has a large uncertainty at leading order due to its dependence on the renormalization scale. We find that the renormalization-scale dependence of this coefficient is significantly reduced, thereby reducing the theoretical uncertainty of the coefficient and, consequently, the rates. The sign of the coefficient becomes stable, and we estimate that the NLO corrections will increase the decay rates by around 2%. Publication Access status: Metadata only , Quark-hadron duality violations and higher-order 1/mb corrections in inclusive semileptonic B decays(2024); ; ; The theoretical description and data for inclusive semileptonic B decays have reached incredible precision. This motivated us to re-animate the discussion of possible Quark-Hadron Duality violations. There seems that there is currently no evidence of a failure of the Heavy Quark Expansion (HQE) used to compute observables for these decays. However, we might arrive at a point where an asymptotic behaviour of the HQE would limit a further increase of precision. We discuss this possibility and suggest a simple model, which can be used to study the effects of higher orders in the 1/ m b expansion and possible quark-hadron duality violations. We devise observables sensitive only to such higher-order effects to test the behaviour of the HQE. Using these observables we obtain a first estimate of possible quark-hadron duality violations using the measured q 2 moments.Source Type:Article1
