Abstract
With this present work the author uses a theoretically based, empirically provided and application-oriented research approach to investigate the dimensioning of logistical reserves. The starting point is the theoretical consideration that both the planning and the use of reserves from a logistical point of view have some open problems whose study appears useful for several reasons. To demonstrate this, the relevance of the topic is first extracted and based on this fundamental research questions as well as the aim of the work are presented. As a basic study from a theoretical perspective, the essential terms "logistics" and "reserves" are discussed in detail and combined to the focus of the investigation "logistical reserves". The within the scope of this discussion identified problems are verified and complemented by means of an exploratory empirical study so that a practical relevance of the identified problems related to the dimensioning of logistical stocks can be proved. Finally, an aid in planning logistical reserves is created with the development of a model-based approach for dimensioning logistical reserves in compliance with the knowledge gained in the previous chapters.
