Publication Access status: Open Access , A pipeline for megahertz X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy on softmatter samples at the MID instrument of European XFEL(2026-02-22); ; ; ; In this article, we present the experimental protocol and data-processing framework for megahertz X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy (MHz XPCS) experiments on soft matter samples implemented at the Materials Imaging and Dynamics (MID) instrument of the European X-ray Free-Electron Laser (EuXFEL). Due to the introduction of a standard configuration and the implementation of a highly automated data-processing pipeline, MHz-XPCS measurements can now be conducted and analyzed with minimal user intervention. A key challenge lies in managing the extremely large data volumes generated by the Adaptive Gain Integrating Pixel Detector (AGIPD) – often reaching several petabytes within a single experiment. We describe the technical implementation, discuss the hardware requirements related to effective parallel data processing and propose strategies to enhance data quality, in particular related to data reduction strategies and an improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio. Finally, we address strategies for making the processed data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), in alignment with the goals of the DAPHNE4NFDI project.Source Type:Article23 9 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Access status: Metadata only , Inclusive $$\overline{B}\to {X}_s{\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-}$$ at the LHC: theory predictions and new-physics reachWe present theoretical predictions for observables in inclusive $\overline{B}\to {X}_s{\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-}$ suitable for measurements at hadron colliders through a sum-over-exclusive approach. At low $q^{2}$ we calculate the branching ratio and three angular observables. At high $q^{2}$ we provide the branching ratio and the ratio of the $\overline{B}\to {X}_s{\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-}$ rate with respect to the inclusive $\overline{B}\to {X}_u\ell \overline{\nu}$ rate with the same phase-space cut. We compare our predictions to the B factory measurements and also to an extraction of the experimental rate through a sum-over-exclusive method using branching ratios of the exclusive $\overline{B}\to {K}^{\left(\ast \right)}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}$ modes measured at LHCb. We find a consistent picture comparing Standard Model theory and experiment. As such, our analysis does not support a recent claim about a deficit in the inclusive branching ratio in the high- $q^{2}$ region. Finally, we present current model-independent bounds on new physics and emphasize the potential of complementary analyses of $\overline{B}\to {X}_s{\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-}$ at Belle II and the LHC.Source Type:Article3 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Access status: Metadata only , Spectroscopic Investigation of the Quadruplex DNA‐Binding Properties of 9‐Aryl‐Substituted Isoquinolinium DerivativesThe spectroscopic investigation of the binding properties of berberine‐type 9‐aryl‐substituted isoquinolinium derivatives with G‐quadruplex DNA (G4‐DNA) are presented. Photometric titrations show that these ligands bind with high affinity to the telomeric G4‐DNA form 22AG ( K =1.0–44×10 5 M −2 ). Furthermore, fluorimetric analysis of thermal DNA denaturation (FRET melting) reveals a significant thermal stabilization of G4‐DNA 22AG upon association with the methoxy‐substituted derivatives. As an analytically useful property, the derivatives with a phenyl substituent or with additional electron‐donating groups show a very weak fluorescence intensity, which increased significantly upon G4‐DNA complexation (fluorescence light‐up effect). Additional time‐resolved fluorescence spectroscopy indicated increased fluorescence lifetimes of the DNA‐bound 9‐(4‐methoxyphenyl)‐substituted derivative, when interacting with the quadruplex‐forming strand 22AG . Notably, the changes of the steady‐state and time‐resolved emission properties of the ligand are more pronounced with G4‐DNA than with duplex DNA so that the combination of these complementary methods may be used for the selective G4‐DNA detection.Source Type:Article3 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Source Type:Article1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Source Type:Article - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Source Type:Article1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Access status: Metadata only , Multi-field modeling and simulation of fiber-reinforced polymers(2023)This work proposes a new numerical approach for analyzing the behavior of fiber-reinforced materials, which have gained popularity in various applications. The approach combines theories and methods to model the fracture behavior of the polymeric matrix and the embedded fibers separately, and includes a modified plasticity model that considers the temperature-dependent growth of voids. Tests are conducted to explore different types and sequences of failure in long fiber-reinforced polymers.Source Type:Article3 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Access status: Metadata only , Two-color four-wave mixing contribution to an electrostrictive laser-induced grating signal in CO2–N2 mixtures and gas diagnostics(2023); ; Multiparameter determination in the gas phase using the versatile laser-induced grating (LIG) technique is a challenging task due to interdependence of observables on multiple thermodynamic parameters. In CO 2 -N 2 mixtures, simultaneous determination of species concentration and gas temperature can be achieved by using an additional CO 2 concentration-dependent contribution to the LIG signal, which appears if 1064 nm pump pulses are employed. This contribution can be attributed to a direct, quasi-resonant two-color four-wave mixing (TCFWM) of the pump and probe radiations in CO 2 . A detailed study of the laser power and beam polarization, as well as mixture composition, pressure, and temperature dependencies of the TCFWM intensity relative to that of the LIG signal, allowed for the formulation of analytical relations enabling simultaneous mixture composition and temperature determination.Source Type:Article4 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Access status: Metadata only , A novel data-based approach for monitoring fatigue crack propagation in welded joints under varying ambient temperature using the electromechanical admittanceFatigue crack growth is one of the most common damage mechanisms of structural components and can result in a sudden and unexpected abrupt fracture which can cause catastrophic failure. Thus, monitoring of crack propagation is an important topic of structural health monitoring. For that reason, this work aims at the detection of crack propagation by the application of a high-frequency vibration-based method, using the electromechanical admittance (EMA). It enables the local monitoring of the coupled dynamic behavior of the structure and the piezoelectric transducer which changes, for example, due to damage. It is the purpose of this study to develop a method from the recorded data reflecting fatigue crack growth in weld zones. As it is known that the data are affected by temperature, a temperature compensation strategy is considered. In this study, a presentation of the coupled EMA data has been found, which allows the isolation of the crack propagation effects. Within the scope of fatigue experiments, fatigue cracks were introduced into threaded bolts of rail support points, welded onto base plates. In practice, they are embedded in a layer of mortar and, therefore, have poor accessibility. Electromechanical impedance measurements were carried out at different states of fatigue crack growth. The fatigue crack growth was validated by strain gauge measurements executed during the fatigue experiment. The proposed feature was calculated from the recorded EMA data. The technique produces promising results detecting fatigue cracks and can also be transferred to similar types of welded joints or rods where fatigue crack growth occurs.Source Type:Article1
